For those who do not know you, tell us more about the artist and the woman Valentina Monetta.
Valentina the artist is not so different from Valentina the woman. My life is quite a nocturnal one. I sing in bars or in my studio,where I study and compose. I am very sportive and this is important for my body, especially to find my mental peace, whom some artists find it difficult to find it when they are young, and unfortunately they end up to choose either their job/ talent or their feelings. I’m worried because of my feeling, but I’m learning to focus more of what I want and music always helped me. I’ve always been a tomboy and only from some my time ago that I’ve started enjoying my feminity. Crisalide is a prayer that I say everyday.

The song “Crysalide” is a very profound one with a more mature sound. Tell us more about it, composers, message.
The mature sound that Ralph Siegel created, the words of a poet like Mauro Balestri and my interpretation have given life to “Crisalide” like a breath of life, an awareness of a new truth to help us face courage, a positive message to recover ourselves…. destroying all the walls that don’t let us to believe in ourselves. The Beatles used to say “Let it be” and I say “Fly”

Have you listened the other countries’ songs? Which is your favourite and of which are you most afraid of?
Yes. My favourite are Italy , Denmark , Malta, France, Austria , Romania and Ukraine… Wow even though too perfect for my taste…

How will your show on Malmo stage look like?
On stage I will have the red (my favourite color) and my movements… that’s what I can reveal

San Marino has never got on a high position on Eurovision. Why do you think it was so and which is your biggest advantage that can convince people to give you more votes?
San Marino started participating in Eurovision for only few years and this is already a disadvantage because this leaks management experience. From my personal experience I can say that there where little incentives or encouragement in a country so small. I think that for many Sammarinese artists, it’s difficult to develop your artistic career, so there is a very limited possibility to build an authentic “home-made” artistic piece and this affects this important European participation. I think that in these recent years there was a better improvement. San Marino believes more in the local artists and I hope that this will reflect in a higher level of presentation. Also I add that the spirit, the passion and the artistic value of the artist who is being chosen to represent his country are important factors and I will focus on these points so that I will be convincible.

The artist flying the flag of San Marino, Valentina Monetta, is in London to promote her song Crisalide. On Friday she had a training session with top London vocal coach Joshua Alamu.

Joshua Alamu is one of the most famous vocal coaches in the UK.

He has worked with artists like Joss Stone, Westlife, Will Young, Beverly Knight, 911, Daniel Bedingfield, All Saints and Tulisa.

Joshua Alamu has also worked for popular television shows like The Voice UK, Dance X and Just the two of us for the BBC, Pop Idol for ITV.

He is not stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest stage himself: Joshua was one of the backing singers for the UK entry Jessica Garlick in Tallinn in 2002.

He has also worked with the Maltese Eurovision artists from this and last years, Gianluca and Kurt.

Joshua spends a lot of time in Malta.

Joshua tells us how he feels that the attitude towards Eurovision is definitely changing in the UK.

Music industry people are now all very happy to take part after big names like Andrew Lloyd-Webber have been part if the song contest, he says.

Even in the USA people in the music industry are following what is going on in the Eurovision Song Contest, as they realise it is such a big showcase in European music, says Joshua.

If only the general public in the United Kingdom stopped treating it like a big joke, he laughs.

The Eurovision Song Contest has so much great talent involved, so it deserves much more credit than it is sometimes getting, says Joshua.

You have to be very talented to do a dance routine like the Swedish winning act Loreen did last year and still be vocally good, he states. And as a vocal coach we get to push the artists even further!







He has such a passion for the song contest, says Joshua Alamu about Siegel. We have worked together and he is such a perfectionist and will probably always be associated with the Eurovision Song Contest, says Joshua.

With Valentina Monetta Joshua worked on Friday polishing her singing ahead of her London performance on Sunday.

Joshua Alamu was very impressed with Valentina Monetta. She has such great talent and it is such a pleasure to work with her, he enthuses!

Άλλη Ρουσλάνα μας βρήκε! Εκείνη είχε οργώσει την Ευρώπη με τα γουρουνοτόμαρα και η Βαλεντίνα με το πορτοκαλοκόκκινο σακί και την μπέρτα. Το μαλλί εξακολουθεί να φαίνεται άπλυτο και το σουτιέν είναι σαν να μην υπάρχει.

Αφού η γυναίκα έχει φτάσει 38-39 χρονών δεν ξέρω πόσο είναι, υποτίθεται οτι είναι τραγουδίστρια με φοβερό ταλέντο όπως λένε όλοι και αντί να έχει μια καλλιτεχνική προσωπικότητα, στραβή, κουτσή, ανάποδη τέλος πάντων το κοινό θα την κρίνει γι'αυτό, παίζει να είναι η μοναδική τραγουδίστρια που έχω δει που αντί να προσαρμόζει τα τραγούδια που επιλέγει να τραγουδήσει στο στυλ της (στην καλλιτεχνική προσωπικότητα που έλεγα πριν) προσαρμόζεται εκείνη στο στυλ των τραγουδιών που της δίνουνε! Θέλω να πω, δεν είναι καμμιά 18χρονη να πεις οτι πειραματίζεται ακόμα και συμμετείχε την μια χρονιά με σαχλαμάρα και την άλλη είπε να δοκιμάσει κάτι σοβαρό! Άρα ούτε καλλιτεχνική περσόνα έχει, ούτε τίποτα! Απλά τραγουδάει ότι της πασάρουνε και προσπαθεί να το προωθήσει με έναν ανόητο τρόπο, λες και υποδύεται κάποιον χαρακτήρα, φέτος ας πούμε την σοβαρή, ποιοτική τραγουδίστρια!

Πέρσι μωρέ δεν είχε οργώσει όλη την Ευρώπη με αυτό το μπλε κολάν, το λάπτοπ και την πανάθλια σφιχτοπιασμένη κοτσίδα και το χαμόγελο της περιοδοντίτιδας; ε, πέρσι ενσάρκωνε την χαζοβιόλα τηνέητζερ! Γι'αυτό είπε και η ίδια οτι σε αυτήν την φάση (την σοβαρή) το αγαπημένο της χρώμα είναι το κόκκινο! Στην περσινή φάση της χαζοβιόλας, ήταν το μπλε!

Η "μεταμόρφωση" που προσπαθούν να μας πείσουν όλοι οτι έκανε η περιπτεραντζού, είμαι βέβαιος οτι ο μάνατζερ (?) η τηλεόραση του Σαν Μαρίνο (?) η ίδια της (?) μας την πλασάρουν γιατί η ίδια της θέλει να "σβήσει" τρόπον τινά φέτος την περσινή ρετσινιά με την αηδία που πήγε. Υστεροφημία λαίμαι, μην τυχόν και την θυμάται το κοινό της Γιουροβίζιον ως "η Φέισμπουκ χαζή" αλλά να την θυμάται ως αρτίστα επιπέδου. Και επιτηδευμένο, και παρακμιακό! Βρε ουστ!

Έχεις δίκιο σε όλα,αλλά αυτό που φέτος παίρνει το πομπώδες ύφος,εγώ πολύ το γουστάρω!
Μπαίνει σε ρόλους η κοπέλα,εκτός των άλλων βγάζει στην επιφάνεια και υποκριτικό ταλέντο!
